The ICES Phytoplankton & Microbial Plankton Status Report

Our working group (WGPME) is in the process of contacting interested investigators with phytoplankton and other microbial plankton (bacteria, archaea, protists, viruses) time-series data to assemble an ICES "Phytoplankton & Microbial Plankton Status Report" in the spring of 2012. Based on the successful ICES Zooplankton Status Report series (done by the ICES Working Group on Zooplankton Ecology (WGZE)), this report will give the non-zooplankton time series their fair share of attention.

An initial "proof of concept" report is now available:

Based on the WGZE zooplankton status report, the proposed 2012 WGPME report will contain individual site summaries, regional overview chapters, and cross-basin / cross-region investigations.  Authorship and participation is therefore available at a variety of levels.
